Today marks a significant date on the global health calendar: World Diabetes Day 2024. As health coaches at TAT Health Solution (TATHS) and dedicated advocates for public health, we want to emphasize the importance of this day and how it resonates with our mission at TATHS.

Understanding the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a prevalent chronic disease, affecting millions worldwide. Alarmingly, obesity is one of the leading risk factors for developing this condition. Excess body weight, particularly around the abdomen, increases the likelihood of insulin resistance, setting the stage for Type 2 diabetes.

The Power of Prevention

The good news is Type 2 diabetes is largely preventable through lifestyle changes. Physical activity is a cornerstone of diabetes prevention. Just 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week can make a significant difference. This includes walking, swimming, or even dancing—any activity that gets your heart rate up and keeps you moving!
